Auswide Plumbing complete water main upgrade under Western Freeway, Melton

Comdain Infrastructure contracted Auswide Plumbing & Civil to complete the installation of 600mm SINTAKOTE® steel pipe for the upgrade of Western Waters Ferris Road water main. The larger main has been designed to increase the capacity and improve service reliability for the expanding Melton area.

Auswide worked alongside Bothar Boring to drill under the Western Highway and Ferris Road entry and exit ramps. Large excavations of a depth of 7m were excavated and trench boxes installed to allow for the drill rigs to be lowered to complete the boring.

Once the bores were completed Auswide laid the remaining pipe, assisted welders, backfilled pipeline, tie ins to existing mains and hydro tested the new installation.
